In sales we all know objections can be very demotivating and difficult to accept but try these tips to help you overcome those difficult conversations:
Step 1. Learn from your colleagues
Discuss the most common objections you face with colleagues, and share ideas about how to handle these.
Step 2. Be Prepared
Plan in advance phrases to the most common objections you face. Ask each other the question - What can you say to to counteract the objection?
Step 3. Listen and question
When you hit an objection make sure that you take the time to listen to exactly what it is the customer wants. Sometimes you will reach a point where what you are proposing does not fit the customers requirements. This is the time to take a step back and question, listen and diagnose.
Step 4. Change your mindset
It is easy to become disillusioned when you are facing objections. However rather than thinking of it as an objection why not think of it as a concern. Some people may appear disinterested because they have a concern as to how it will really benefit them.
Step 5. Support the sale, rather than push it
If somebody says they have to discuss it with somebody else, then rather than pushing them why not try asking them if there is anything you can provide to help with this.
